Good morning and Happy September 1;
The Board of Directors of SFCRA revisited this directive at last night’s Board meeting and were unanimous in their decision to keep our current protocols in place.
Our Board of Directors and Management Team are committed to:
- By allowing additional persons into the facility, we would require significant increased cleaning with the cost being added to our already expensive ice fees. Any additional costs incurred must be borne by the user groups which may, in some cases, make registration fees unaffordable.
Our mandate has been, and will continue to be, to offer a safe and efficient recreation facility. Last night’s decision by our Board is in keeping with our mandate.
We will be revisiting this directive again in three to four weeks.
Any questions/comments pertaining to minor hockey can be addressed to either Knights HA, South West HA or Calgary Buffalos HA.
Any questions/comments pertaining to our Cardel Rec South programs can be address to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Hello Valued Cardel Rec South Registrants,
Please see the message from our General Manager regarding spectating in our facility below:
A sub-committee of the SFCRA Board of Directors met on August 20th to discuss having non-participants access to Cardel Rec South during these unprecedented times. The decision coming out of this meeting is that we will continue to allow only one parent inside the facility to sign their child in, assist with program commencement (eg: tying skates) and signing their child out. Maximum time a parent should be in the facility is a total of 15 minutes.
This directive has been put into place to keep our participants and staff safe, facility open and to keep our caretaking costs manageable. This protocol is applicable to ALL Cardel Rec South programs and rentals and will be reviewed again in late September.
The Cardel Rec South programming department has been given direction to review our safety protocols to ensure we have sufficient instructor to participant ratios to ensure the safety and health of our program participants.
I know that this news is not the news that everyone - especially those with smaller children - want to hear but we feel it is the best way we can achieve our mandate of offering affordable recreational and educational opportunities while keeping everyone safe and healthy.
If the program is parented, this does not apply to the parent, as they are an active participant.
We understand that this might not work for some families, and if you want to withdraw and receive a full refund please call our Reception office at 403-201-8652 or email email@example.com
Any questions or concerns, can be sent to our General Manager, Les Turner, directly at Les.firstname.lastname@example.org
Effective August 1st, masks will be mandatory in all public places. If you are wondering how this will look at Cardel Rec South, we will be continuing to follow the health and safety recommendations made by Alberta Health services.
ONLY coaches and participants are allowed into the facility. They will be required to wear masks entering the facility and at all times other than while in the dressing rooms or during activity.
Parents who enter the facility to assist with tying skates and signing your child(ren) in or out MUST WEAR A MASK to do so, and then must vacate the facility. The decision to continue without parents/spectators has been extended to September 30th and will affect both rentals and programs.
We thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
