We are a community based recreation facility who offers quality recreation programming for all ages, in a clean and safe facility.

We are proud to be partners in the South Fish Creek Complex, along with the

Shawnessy Public Library, Shawnessy YMCA & Bishop O'Byrne High School.

Rentals

Cardel Rec is home to Calgary's only community-operated

Quad-arena facility, 6000 square foot gymnasium in

collaboration with Calgary Catholic School district, and multipurpose rooms in a variety of sizes for your next meeting, birthday party or social event.

The Bench Restaurant

A delightful family-friendly casual dining restaurant located inside Cardel Rec Centre, on the second floor, between arenas 3 & 4.

 

The Bench offers diverse food & beverage options, perfectly suited

for pre or post-lessons, games, or practices.

Seniors

Social Club

Join us each Tuesday at 1-3 pm for a drop-in social club for seniors to gather, chat and play games.

Come inside Cardel Rec, at the Canadian Meeting Room on the 2nd floor.

Complementary coffee, tea and games.

Creating a Generation of healthy lifestyles 

At our Cardel Rec, we believe in the power of play and physical activity to promote a healthier generation. By providing a welcoming and inclusive space for people of all ages and abilities to come together and be active, we are helping to build stronger, more active community. We offer a wide range of programming and facilities to support healthy lifestyles, including programs for youth and seniors. 

One of my favourite laid out facilities. Lots of entrances and room for gaggles of people to get around. Love that it's connected to the Ymca and library as well.

Nice affordable basketball court. My buddies and I rent this place a couple of hours a week. The staff are punctual in opening and closing the gym. Pretty good!
